The Chippokes Farm & Forestry Museum will be hosting the All NEW BIGGER & BETTER Antique Steam & Gas Engine Festival on May 30 and 31, 2009.

The Festival will encompass all the museum grounds as well as the Sawmill area. There will be things to do for the whole family.

The 1935 saw mill will be milling logs on the other side of the museum's forestry trail. Many antique tractors, farm tools and engines will be on display. Many engines will demonstrate their purpose and power thrilling farm enthusiasts. Antique cars, motorcycles and some military vehicles will be shown as well.

In the park's cultural area live entertainment and heritage craft demonstrations will be happening all weekend long. There will be much to see and do for the whole family with a petting zoo for the kids, a farmers market to visit and art and crafts to view. Live entertainment all weekend (bring your lawn chair) and much much more!

Enjoy a wonderful day in the scenic Chippokes Plantation State Park. You can’t beat this deal anywhere, with live entertainment all weekend, and all for only $5 a day, children 8 and under are free (youth 9-18 on a current school or county sport team, school band or scout group - wear your 2009 team/uniform shirt for free admission).

I have aquired a 'Thieman" tractor made by Thieman Harvester Co. in Albert City, Iowa and have showed it at our Pungo Strawberry Festival in Pungo (Va. Beach area)& it seems to attract attention. What about the old steam engine? I haven't seen it running the last time we were there! How do I enter the show? gene.

While the Museum is located within Chippokes Plantation State Park, it is a separate entity. I have been trying to get the folks to provide me with articles on this year's event but have not had any luck. I have responded to comments like yours and you will notice I had the 2010 date provided in the comments.
